Part-Time Library Page in Media Services
Brighton Memorial Library
has a vacancy for a part-time Library Page.
Applications will be
accepted until the position is filled.
Duties
-
Daily check-in, labeling
and display of magazines and newspapers
-
Shelves new and
circulating library materials and removes items to be deleted from shelves
as directed
-
Shelf reads, straightens
and maintains the order of materials on shelves
-
Assists with simple
repairs of audiovisual materials that may involve the use of basic AV
equipment
-
Assists with locating
lost and mismatched parts of AV items
-
May charge and discharge
library materials, using the library’s automated circulation system
-
Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions
-
Ability to reach high
and low places and to bend for shelving
-
Ability to lift a 60
pound box of books with the help of another employee
-
Manual dexterity

Good reading skills

Ability to work with
decimals

Ability to work neatly,
accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail

Ability to exercise
poise in a busy environment
Desired Qualifications

Interest in and some
familiarity with audiovisual formats and equipment

Initiative, flexibility
and good judgment

Ability to communicate
effectively, both orally and in writing

Prior work in public
libraries with computers and the CARL system

Strong organizational
skills
Hours
15 hours per week, daytime,
10:30 am – 1:30 pm.
Wage Schedule
Based on performance and
schedule eligibility, ranges in 3 steps from Step 1 at $7.43 to Step 3 at
$8.94/hour.
