Computer Training Classes

Sign up for our one-hour, hands-on training sessions, taught by Brighton Memorial Library reference librarians. Take them as often as you like--there is NO limit. Call 784-5300, or stop at the Reference Center for more information and to register.
Mouse Maneuvers: Thurs., June 5 at 11:30 am
With this introduction to the computer, learn to maneuver the mouse
and try keyboard shortcuts for an enjoyable experience online.
 
Internet Basics: Thurs., June 12 at 11 am
Explore selected web sites on the World Wide Web using Internet
Explorer. Learn how to use browser commands and locate web sites.
Participants must have experience using the mouse, or have taken
Mouse Maneuvers.
 
E-mail Basics: Thurs., May 15 at 11:30 am; Tues., June 17 at 2 pm
Open a free Yahoo e-mail account. Practice e-mail commands using
your account. Participants must have surfed the World Wide Web and
be proficient with the mouse, or have taken Internet Basics.
 
 
E-mail Advanced: Thurs., May 22 at 11:30 am; Tues., June 24 at 2 pm
Use the features of Yahoo e-mail to organize and enhance your
messages. Create an address list and e-mail folders. Learn to send
and open attachments. Participants must have surfed the World Wide Web and have a free e-mail account, or have taken E-mail Basics.

KURZWEIL 3000 SCREEN READING SYSTEM
Easy to use and designed for anyone visually impaired or who has reading difficulties, the Kurzweil brings together a scanner, computer and speakers to magnify and “read” printed words. For people with learning disabilities or other literacy difficulties, or who are learning a language, it highlights and reads aloud word passages, definitions and spellings.
