YA May Days: Preview New YA Novels!
Ages 12-18 who read and review a young adult novel will receive a gift card to Barnes & Noble, get their reviews included in a YA library brochure, AND get their positive picks displayed in June! Novels must be from the YA section, and have been published in 2007 or 2008. Teens must read a book they have not read before, and review the book between May 1 and May 31. One review per teen. Hand in your reviews to a reference librarian and expect a call on June 2 for details on picking up your gift card! Sponsored by the Friends of BML.

 

2008 ALICE B. WILSON TEEN LITERARY AWARDS WINNERS

The Annual Literary Contest for Young Adults is named in memory of Alice B. Wilson to honor her longtime commitment to and support of the Library. Mrs. Wilson was a former Library Trustee, Treasurer of the Friends, and was instrumental in organizing the Friends of Brighton Memorial Library in 1972.  The contest is made possible by the Friends of Brighton Memorial Library and the Brighton Memorial Library Gift Fund.

Go Postal! 2007 Teen Art Contest
Go Postal! is a small works show that showcases the talents of young artists in Brighton. Postcard-sized works are mailed to the Library for judging. This annual juried contest is open to teens in grades 6 -12 living in or attending school in Brighton. Sponsored by the Friends of Brighton Library.
