Internet Access Guidelines
   In order to maximize Internet availability and to ensure accessibility for everyone at the Brighton Memorial Library, the following                       guidelines shall apply:

All adults and young adults (7th grade and up) may access the Internet by signing up at the computer with their library card. Patrons without MCLS library cards may request a guest pass at the Reference Center.

Internet use is limited to three1-hour sessions per day per person.

All computer users must comply with the printing charges.

Computer workstations must be used for their assigned function (Internet, Catalog, Databases)

The Library does not support e-mail (including telnet) and/or chat rooms.

Attempts to alter, remove, or add to the hardware or software configuration are prohibited.

Children in 6th grade or below must use the Internet terminals available in the Children's Room.

The Library affirms the right and responsibility of parents to guide their children's use of all library resources, including the Internet.

Please remember that these computers are located in a public area. All users must respect the rights of others by not displaying on the monitor material and images that may cause disruption.

Patrons who fail to follow these guidelines will lose their Internet access. Patrons who fail to stop disruptive activity will be asked to leave the library.

Any illegal use of the Internet is strictly prohibited. Illegal uses include, but may not be limited to the viewing of child pornography, the infringement of copyright, and credit card fraud. Any illegal activity will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law.
