Community Creators Art Exhibit: 11/5 - 11/6, 2022

We know there are many creative people in Brighton- here's the chance to show it!

Brighton residents who are 18 years & older and want to share a piece of art they have created are invited to participate in Brighton Memorial Library's (BML's) Community Creators Pop-Up Art Exhibit being held Saturday, November 5, 2022 and Sunday, November 6 2022 in our Friends' Learning Center.  50 participants will be accepted to this event.  To reserve display space for this event, read the following exhibit rules and fill out the form linked below.

Exhibit Rules:

One piece of art (in non-video media) per Brighton registrant will be accepted.  If more than 50 residents apply, a waiting list will be started and a second show may be scheduled for the winter.

Items on exhibit will need to be viewable by all ages and may not contain violent or sexual themes or negative comments about ethnic, political, racial, or religious groups.  Pieces cannot be defamatory or violate criminal laws.  They cannot be commercial advertisements.  Items will not be sold during this event.  The Brighton Memorial Library Executive Director and/or the Brighton Memorial Library Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject art pieces submitted for this exhibit.

Outer dimensions of submitted work cannot not exceed 30 inches.

Items to be hung should weigh no more than 5 pounds unless an easel or stand is provided by the artist.

If you wish to better ensure that your original artwork is not touched, you can frame it or bring your item in a small display case.  Artwork should be labeled (on the back or bottom) with your name.  BML will create labels for each piece using the information provided in the registration form.

Artwork will need to be dropped off the evening of Thursday, November 3rd between 5 PM and 8 PM or on Friday, November 4th between 9 AM and 2 PM.

The exhibit will run during the library's normal hours of operation: 12 PM - 4 PM both Saturday and Sunday.  A volunteer will staff the room each day.

Artwork will need to be picked up either on Sunday, November 6th between 3:30 PM - 4 PM or on Monday, November 7th between 9 AM and 5 PM.  Another event is scheduled in the room after 5 PM that day, so all pieces must be removed by that time.
