Donating Materials to Brighton Memorial Library

BML is now accepting donations! If you are among the many who have cleaned out their bookshelves during the pandemic, now is the time to move them out of your house and give them to Friends of BML.  You can bring in up to 5 boxes or bags per day.

We accept the following items in good condition:

Books for children, young adults & adults

Audiovisual materials (audiobooks, CDs or DVDs)

Encyclopedias (up to 5 years old)

Magazines (up to 2 years old)

Textbooks (up to 5 years old)

We are not able to accept:

Damp, musty, dirty, or damaged books

Current events magazines (over 2 years old)

Vinyl records, cassette or VHS tapes

Homemade recordings

Donations can be dropped off during regular library hours, however, we do ask that you try to avoid the last half hour before closing.

The Friends of Brighton Memorial Library is a hardworking volunteer organization that supports and promotes the library. Donations are sorted and sold at the Friends book sales and in the Dorothy & Jack Pitlick Bookstore, as well as via Internet sales. Revenues generated are then given back to the library in the form of funding for new initiatives and for library programming. We couldn’t do what we do without our Friends!
