Annual 5x7xDesign Art Contest (Fall)
5x7xDesign is a juried, small-works exhibit that showcases the talents of students in grades 6-12 who live in or attend school in Brighton. Postcard-sized works in various media are submitted to the library for judging in the fall. Two works may be submitted by each artist. Work is judged anonymously based on creativity, originality, technique, and composition by a team of art professionals. Prizes are awarded in two divisions: Junior (grades 6-9) and Senior (grades 10-12). The contest is sponsored by Friends of BML.

Alice B. Wilson Literary Awards Contest (Winter)
The annual contest is open to all students in grades 6-12 who live in or attend school in Brighton. Students compete in Junior (grades 6-9) and Senior Divisions (grades 10-12). Cash prizes are awarded in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry categories. The submission deadline is in February each year. Sponsored by Friends of Brighton Memorial Library and the Brighton Memorial Library Gift Fund.
